As Cannobio is so close to the Swiss Border, it is possible to reach the town either through Switzerland or Italy.

 

By Plane

Fly into Milano Malpensa Airport, Milan, Italy. Cannobio is 86 km (approximately 1.5 hours) away by car. For an extra charge, we can organize a driver to meet you and drive you to Cannobio. Fly into Zurich Airport, Switzerland. Cannobio is 229 km (approximately 3 hours) away by car.

 

 

By Car

From Milan Malpensa Airport: A26 motorway exit at Baveno or Gravellona for Verbania, and take the SS34 along the lake as far as Cannobio.

From Zurich Kloten Airport: A4 and A2 motorway, Exit 47 at Bellinzona Sud to Locarno, take route 13 which merges into SS34. You will cross the Swiss-Italian Border after the town of Brissago. Continue to drive along the lake as far as Cannobio.

As Cannobio is a small, people-friendly town it is best to get around by foot or bike. We suggest you to leave your car in one of the parking lots that dot Cannobio. Most are free of charge. Click here for parking information in Cannobio: www.procannobio.it

 

By Train

From Milan: The nearest railway station is Verbania, 29 km from Cannobio. A bus from the station will take you to Intra where you can get another bus for Cannobio. It is also possible to arrive in Stresa, and we can organize a driver to meet you and drive you to Cannobio.

From Zurich: Take Swiss National Rail (SBB) from Zurich Airport to Zurich Main Station where you change trains for Locarno, Switzerland. Locarno is 20 minutes from Cannobio. Alternatively, if you wish to immerse yourself in the lake’s charm and begin your vacation on a romantic note, take a boat from Locarno to Cannobio. This is a longer trip and the boat schedule varies seasonally. However, the approach to Cannobio is breathtaking and you will disembark on the main piazza opposite Casa Doriana.
